Welcome to Mountain View High School Athletics, the proud home of the Spartans! MVHS Athletics is part of the Central Coast Section (CCS), which governs High School Athletics from San Francisco to King City, and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).  

 

It is the philosophy of the Mountain View High School Athletic Department that participation in athletics is an integral part of the educational process. The many lessons that athletics can teach: sportsmanship, self-discipline, teamwork, commitment, and developing self confidence, as well as dealing with success and overcoming adversity, are lessons that will last a lifetime. The true value of high school athletics rests in the learning of these lessons.

 

Our coaches believe in this philosophy and see themselves as instruments in its implementation. The fields and courts are used as classrooms where these “lessons of life” can be taught in an environment where student motivation is great.

The SCVAL consists of 14 schools in two divisions: the upper De Anza and the lower El Camino Division. Some Mountain View teams compete in the De Anza Division, and others compete in the El Camino Division.
