GoFundMe Helping MVHS AVID Families
Mountain View High School AVID students and families who are struggling with housing and food insecurity because of the COVID-19 crisis need your support. This GoFundMe page is for funds to purchase grocery gift cards. The Mountain View High School administration will help distribute them to families in need.
AVID—Advancement Via Individual Determination—is an "untracking" program designed to help underachieving students with high academic potential prepare for entrance to colleges and universities. The 160 students in the AVID program commit to take rigorous college prep classes and are supported by AVID teachers, tutors and mentors from the community.
GoFundMe
Because of COVID-19 and the Shelter-in-Place orders, some of these MVHS AVID students are facing even bigger challenges, as their families deal with housing and food insecurity. Please donate:
- $200 will help cover a week of groceries for a family
- $800 will help cover a month of groceries
Any amount would be appreciated and make a difference.
Need Support?
If your Mountain View High family needs food, resources or additional support during the COVID-19 pandemic, contact Assistant Principal Daniella Quiñones at (650) 268-4572 or Alma Ruelas, Bilingual Community Liaison, at (650) 618-9323.
The PTSA and teachers are working to find ways to provide food to our families, and your contributions and volunteer efforts make a big difference.
