2024-25 Animation 1
Animation is a 2-dimensional illusion of movement by displaying a series of images, each one slightly different from the last. This one-year introductory animation course is perfect foundation for Junior students and students will learn the basic skill set for how to produce the simple animation, along with the hand-drawing techniques and the digital imaging, students will learn about storyboarding and various 2D animation techniques, focusing on 2-Dimensional animation projects like creation of pre-cinema optical illusion toys, such as Flipbook, Zoetrope, Phenakistoscope and more. Additionally, students will also learn an overview of the history of animation, as well as storytelling techniques and 2D character development. Students also will learn how to create sets, puppets and figures for stop motion animation or use experimental forms such as mixed-media animation. Students will constantly learn contemporary techniques and skills necessary for a career in analog and digital animation.

2024-25 Design 1
This year-long Design 1 course builds a foundation of visual arts skills and knowledge at the proficient level of the Visual and Performing arts content standards for grades 9-12. The first semester of Design 1 introduces students to art using the elements and principles of art and design, through a series of projects in various media, including traditional media such as pencil, ink, paint, paper, and photography as well as new media. Students will also use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for various projects. Assignments based on design principles, color theory, and typography, emphasize the development of technical skills and a personal design vocabulary which serve as a foundation for more complex projects such as creation of photo essays, narrative photography projects, promotional products including logos, posters, and package design, and installations. Students will continue to generate a portfolio of work that can be used to demonstrate their abilities for college entrance or employment in the visual arts world.
2024-25 Design 2
This year-long Design 2 course builds a foundation of visual arts skills and knowledge at the proficient level of the Visual and Performing arts content standards
for grades 9-12. The first semester of Design II continues with the skills students learned in Design I. using the elements and principles of art and design, through a series of projects in various media, including traditional media such as pencil, ink, paint, paper, and photography as well as new media. Students will also use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for various projects. Assignments based on design principles, color theory, and typography, emphasize the development of technical skills and a
personal design vocabulary which serve as a foundation for more complex projects such as creation of photo essays, narrative photography projects, promotional products including logos, posters, and package design, and installations. Students will continue to generate a portfolio of work that can be used to demonstrate their abilities for college entrance or employment in the visual arts world.
2024-25 Digital Media 1
Digital Media I is year one of a 2-year sequenced exploratory, project-based learning course designed to educate students on the ever-changing digital world, as well as to provide hands-on experience with industry standard software and equipment. The course curriculum introduces students to a wide range of areas, so it appeals to a diverse group of students who can discover, enhance and develop a passion for communicating their ideas through various forms of media. Topics covered in Digital Media 1 include graphic design, photography, print production, animation, music/audio production, video production, and web design.
2024-25 Digital Media 2
Digital Media 2 is year two of a 2-year sequenced exploratory, project-based learning course designed to educate students on the ever-changing digital world, as well as to provide hands-on experience with industry standard software and equipment. The course curriculum introduces students to a wide range of areas, so it appeals to a diverse group of students who can discover, enhance and develop a passion for communicating their ideas through various forms of media. Topics covered in Digital Media 2 include graphic design, photography, print production, animation, music/audio production, video production, and web design.
2024-25 English 3
In this course, students study and compose literature and visual media which inspire their thinking and provide content for their integrated Freestyle media project work. Specifically, students will be able to:
- Conduct original research and apply the research process to develop compositions for print and online publication.
- Write and communicate professionally and persuasively through storytelling, essays, research-based multimedia products, structured discussions, and presentations.
- Analyze a variety of poetry and narratives, and use creative writing skills to communicate complex messages through poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
- Manage projects, collaborate, and problem-solve creatively.
2024-25 English 4
In this course, students study and compose literature and visual media which inspire their thinking and provide content for their integrated Freestyle media project work. Specifically, students will be able to:

In Film Production students will be able to:
- Create, critique, and analyze, visual media to learn and develop the use of film language
- Write and develop unique and compelling stories to be adapted or translated into film or media
- Produce unique and technically proficient works using industry standard skills and tools in video
2024-25 Film Production 2
In Film Production students will be able to:
- Create, critique, and analyze, visual media to learn and develop the use of film language
- Write and develop unique and compelling stories to be adapted into effective screenplays and translated into film or media
- Coordinate and manage large teams to execute the complete of large scale film productions
- Produce unique and technically proficient works using industry standard skills and tools in video, audio, and lighting
