Requesting a Schedule Change?

We would like to inform you about the administration’s policy and our process regarding scheduling errors. The master schedule is built based on student demand and we carefully staff our classes accordingly. As such, we prioritize students with scheduling errors (see below). If you do not have an error, your request for a class change may or may not be granted due to these constraints.

Scheduling Errors

NOT Scheduling Errors

  • Missing a class required for graduation
  • Removing a class that a student has already taken.
  • Two back to back open periods (for example, a free 2nd period AND a free 3rd period).
  • Two classes scheduled in the same period (for example, US History and Algebra II both in 6th period).
  • Missing an elective class
  • Having a class in 7th period, but an open period elsewhere.
  • Athletes may have a 7th period class as all sports practices are after 7th period.
  • Rearranging the order of classes and periods in which a student has a particular class/subject.
  • Requesting a teacher change.

If You Have a Schedule Error or would like to make a course change:

If you have a scheduling error (see above for what qualifies as an error), fill out the schedule change request form. This form will be available to students starting Tuesday, August 4 at 8 am.

NEW in 2026 - All students intrested in a parking permit must complete the following 3 steps:

  1. Watch “Safer Student Driving” video to the right
  2. Submit “Safer Student Driving Quiz”
  3. Fill out MVHS Student Parking Contract

Important Note: Students applying for a parking permit DO NOT need to watch the e-bike safety video.  The quiz only addresses topics in the Safer Student Driving video
