2026-27 Physical Education (Gr. 9)
Physical Education is a required class in the State of California. Students will demonstrate knowledge and competency in motor skills, movement patterns and strategies needed to perform dual and individual sports, rhythms/dance and aquatics. Students will achieve a level of physical fitness for health and performance while demonstrating knowledge of fitness concepts, and training principles. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, biomechanical principles and game strategies as they apply to learning and performance of physical activities. Common Core State Standards, 6-12 English Language Arts in Science and Technical Subjects are also embedded in our program. All students must take the state physical fitness test. In order to apply for a 10th grade exemption for athletics, fall marching band, dance or cheerleading, students must earn a “B” or higher in both semesters of 9th Grade Physical Education.

2026-27 Team Sports (Gr. 10-12)
Students will partake in a variety of sports that take place on ANY field. Examples of some of the sports that will be played are Soccer, Football, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, and a variety of cardiovascular activities to improve their performance. Students will also partake in self-defense/tumbling. This is a year-long class, but can be taken as a semester class if student received a B or higher the previous semester.

2026-27 Total Fitness
Students will partake in all levels of individual/group fitness activities. Examples include: Yoga, Pilates, Cross Training, Power Walking, Self Defense, Tumbling, Alternative Games, Swimming, and Cardiovascular Activities. Students will also partake in mindfulness activities, goal setting/tracking and nutrition guidance will be discussed. This is a year long class, but can be taken as a semester if desired if the student has passed Grade 9 Physical Education with a “B” grade or higher.

2026-27 Weight Training: Intermediate, Advanced
The Weight Training and Conditioning course is a standards based class that is worth 5 or 10 physical education credits (semester/year.) Students will enter this class with basic knowledge of weight training/CrossFit from Physical Education 9. They will understand proper safety, biomechanics and procedures to partake in more advanced weight lifting techniques using Olympic weights. Plyometrics, power/speed training, Kettlebell lifts and nutrition will also be discussed.
