MVLA Scholars is now recruiting for the AVID Mentoring Program that pairs MVHS Seniors and Juniors in the AVID 11 and 12 classes with caring community members who help students understand, explore and succeed in the college application process. AVID is an MVHS class focused on closing the opportunity gap by supporting first-generation students on the path to career and college. Each mentor works in a pair with a small group of students they get to know and support throughout the school year. Mentors do NOT have to be experts in the the college application process, but they do need to commit to attending class weekly/biweekly at MVHS throughout the 2026-27 school year.
Sign up HERE to learn more and get an invite to a reception on May 19 to meet current mentors.
